Malaysia is the best travel destination. That's a fairly big statement I know, but I think I've got the goods to back it up. Let me clarify...

Travel means very different things to different men and women. For some it's all about setting up the sun on a beautiful beach for days on end, for others it's about integrating in to a new civilization and really getting under the skin of a nation, some prefer to examine themselves and do things which will take them from their comfort zone and for others it is all about indulging, while that means meals, shopping or a little bit of pampering. And the list goes on.

The excellent thing about Malaysia, is that whatever travel means to youpersonally, it is possible to find an experience here that will fulfil all of your wildest, travel related, fantasies. Add to that the fantastic weather, and the fact that it's super cheap and you'll notice that Malaysia has, quite literally, even got everything.

I'm going to break it down a bit further. Below are 6 reasons why I think Malaysia is the best travel destination. Have a look, consider them and let me know in the comments box below what you believe.

BEAUTIFUL BEACHES

We can all appreciate a beautiful beach, even when you're not the kind of person who's idea of happiness is being sat beneath a palm tree with a fantastic book for days on end (are you crazy!) . I am referring to the kind of beaches that you really hope exist, although you are not really sure anywhere could actually be that beautiful. Well let me tell you, it's possible and you'll be able to see them at Malaysia.

Number 1 on the list has got to be the shores of Redang, a small island paradise just off Malaysia's East Coast. With hardly any inhabitants it's quiet and the perfect secluded relaxation spot. In the north of the island turtles lay their eggs on the beach, so in the event that you go cruising, you may have the ability to spot sea turtles swimming with you. Ssreuta.com

A little less effort to get to, but equally magnificent, are the beaches of Langkawi and the Perhentian Islands. They're more 'touristy' than Redang, but that really just means more opportunities for cold beers in chilled beach bars.

That fusion is most apparent in Penang. Wander the streets of the capital George Town, a UNESCO World Heritage site that is packed with historical and cultural gems including beautiful colonial architecture, classic churches, Buddhist and Hindu temples and grand mosques.

If you are not too scared, see Snake Temple where live snakes actually live inside! *shudder*

THE VIBRANT METROPOLIS

Kuala Lumpur is one of the world's great cities also contains everything you would expect, and hope, to see and experience in a mythical funding, all with a distinctive Malaysian spin.

Sample yummy street food, get lost in busy shopping centers, haggle at market bazaars, climb the famed Petronas Towers for good views, and ride the KL Monorail to get effortless access to every part of the city.

Kuala Lumpur is also a excellent beginning point for day excursions to the early Batu Caves and city-state Melaka.

Think of Malaysian wildlife and what's the first things that come to mind? It is the ideal place to find these amazing creatures in the wild.

Head over to Borneo to see these charismatic creatures hanging out from the jungles of Sepilok and then take a trek up Mt Kinabalu for excellent views of rice paddies, jungles and distant villages.

Trip such as Borneo Sarawak Discovery will make sure that you don't miss out on some of the best bits of this incredible region of the county.

If you enjoy you wildlife a little less hairy, then the famous Tropical Butterfly Farm in Teluk Bahang, Penang is also well worth a trip.

DELICIOUS CUISINE

If you're anything like me, food will occupy a big portion of your thoughts each day, and among the greatest things about travelling, in my opinion at least, is the opportunity to indulge in the very best local cuisine; and Malaysia is one of the greatest places in the world to find a huge choice of yummy dishes to sample. Whether you're quitting on a road corner, splashing out in among the capital's best restaurants or hovering somewhere in between, prepare for a culinary wake up telephone thanks to a remarkable tastes.

If you're in Penang, widely admitted to be Malaysia's food capital, try out the Laksa Penang (a spicy and sour noodle soup) or the Nasi Kandar (a Malaysian curry dish with rice).

If you want your journeys to take you out of your comfort zone and challenge you a little, then you will not be disappointed with what Malaysia has to offer in terms of experience.

Snorkel and scuba dive around the Perhenthian and Tioman Islands, go caving at Turtle Cave in Gunung Mulu National Park, trek through the tea plantations of the Cameron Highlands, bungee jump at Sunway Extreme Park and go white water rafting at Kuala Kubu Bharu. Phew!
