If you are looking for a new laptop with dual screens, there are many options available. In this article, we'll discuss the Lenovo Thinbook Plus, Asus Zephyrus Duo, and HP Omen X 2S. You can also find more information on these models by reading our buyer's guide. We also talk about what features to look for in a dual screen laptop, and what features you can expect from each one.
Lenovo Thinbook Plus
The Dell Venue 11 Pro is a high-end laptop that comes with an ultra-wide 17.3-inch IPS display with a 3K resolution and a 100% P3 color gamut. This laptop also has a large 8-inch color pen-enabled touchscreen with an 800x1,280-pixel resolution and latches onto the laptop deck. It is one of the most advanced dual-screen laptops, and the price tag is comparable to many high-end laptops.
This dual-screen laptop features a 12th-generation Intel Core processor with up to 32GB of RAM and a 1TB solid-state drive. The display also includes a 720p webcam with dual-array microphones and two USB-C ports with Thunderbolt 4 power adapter. Despite its low-priced price tag, this laptop comes with a lot of high-end features, including a powerful 69 Whh battery and HD Audio.
Asus Zephyrus Duo
Asus has revealed several extraordinary new devices at CES 2022, including the Asus Zephyrus Duo 16 gaming laptop. The new model comes with dual color-accurate screens and top-tier high-performance hardware, including the Asus Nebula Display specification. The newest model is more powerful than ever, with an AMD Ryzen 9 5900HX CPU and Nvidia GeForce RTX 3080 GPU.
The Asus Zephyrus Duo features a slick design that emphasizes the use of a secondary screen. It comes with an additional 7-inch 1920x1100 display located above the keyboard. While the primary use case for this screen is to run a music program on one side and a chat app on the other, there are no limits to what can be accomplished with it. The dual screen design also allows the user to use the Asus ScreenXpert software to overlay a control panel across the full width of the screen, with dedicated controls for applications.
Asus ZenBook Pro Duo
If you're looking for a laptop that can serve as both a desktop and a portable second screen, then the Asus ZenBook Pro Duo is a great choice. Its screen is bright and colorful and offers a 60Hz refresh rate. While the screen is smaller than some single screen laptops, it maintains the same level of detail. You'll also find a good battery life with this laptop.
The Asus ZenBook Pro Duo 15 OLED is the flagship model, and it comes with an Intel Core i9 processor and up to 32GB of RAM and 1TB of storage. It also comes with an NVIDIA RTX 3070 mobile graphics card. The display on the second screen tilts up and is compatible with a variety of devices. The laptop's lid has a swirling pattern, and it props the second screen up.
HP Omen X 2S
With HP's Omen X2S dual screen laptop, you can enjoy two screens at once. The primary display is a 15.6-inch 1080p display with 144Hz refresh rate. You can easily magnify portions of the main screen, watch YouTube videos, or check CPU performance on the secondary display. You can also customize the lighting on the main screen by pressing the dedicated keys. Alternatively, you can open the Omen Command Center app and change the display settings.
The Omen X 2S is also equipped with adequate port selection. Its ports include two USB 3.1 Gen 1 Type A ports, an HDMI 2.0B port, and a Gigabit Ethernet port. Other ports are an Ethernet port and headphone/mic jacks. Although there are many positive aspects of the HP Omen X2S, some of its shortcomings must be considered. Although this laptop boasts power and style, the battery life is poor. It only lasts about two hours when the secondary display is turned on.
ASUS Duo
The ASUS Duo dual screen laptop is a fantastic hybrid of form and function, which works seamlessly in Windows. This innovative laptop offers a large, dual screen display and allows you to use the second screen for almost anything you need, from viewing Spotify to working with two screens for easier reference. The laptop has a hinged bottom and a hinged upper screen, making it easy to adjust both displays to your preferences.
The keyboard is quiet and offers satisfying tactile feedback, but the deck display occupies the keyboard area. Asus has tried to remedy this by extending the keyboard a few centimeters and adding a taller touchpad. Still, this results in a touchpad that doesn't offer much room to pan and has to be butted up against the edge. While this may sound like a problem, the touchpad is perfectly functional, and is easy to use, even for non-typists.
Honeycomb Glacier
The Honeycomb Glacier laptop features a 15.6-inch Full HD screen and a 12.3-inch touchscreen setup. Its dual hinge system engages with a press-and-hold button and can lock at any height. The laptop will be released by the end of 2020, and Intel has not said when it will go on sale. More vendors are expected to follow suit. We'll have to wait and see.
The design of the Honeycomb Glacier is an oddity. A laptop with two screens needs to be big. A 45-watt Intel CPU and a discrete NVIDIA GeForce 1060 GPU are more than enough. But this laptop has just one fan to keep both components cool. Instead of two fans to keep the laptop cool, the Glacier uses custom cooling and extra space beneath the hinge to do so. That way, the Glacier is much more energy-efficient.
