Are you thinking of seeing your loved ones for the holidays? Do you want to take advantage of the Holidays to pay a visit to Paris or Vietnam? Or are you likely to take a well-deserved break and get away from the cold weather...probably somewhere sunny? Travelling during the holidays can be a test of patience...the lines are long, the tickets can be ridiculously expensive, the traffic can be dreadful, and cabs can be difficult to get. So before you lose your mind and have a collapse in a train station or airport, allow me to give you some ideas on travel for the holidays.

Best Before:

Just like your favorite custard cake, you will find "best before" dates to travel. Let me share the very best and worst times to travel according to some popular travel booking sites like Orbitz and Skyscanner.

Do you want the good news or the bad news first?

Ok then. I'm pretty sure that you want to learn what the worst day to travel is so that you can plan ahead and prevent that day at all cost.

The good news is (yes, I will confirm what you've already guessed all together), when traveling for Christmas, the ideal day for traveling is on the 27th. The festivities are over and people probably only want to enjoy some time off eating pot roast leftovers, lounging around sipping hot cocoa, and doing nothing. Take advantage of this "vacation time out" and get going! You'll find airports less hectic and roads less congested.

Only a few days then comes the busiest day for the New Year. Therefore, if you can, avoid traveling on the day prior to New Year's Eve, December 30. Rajasthan Travel Unsurprisingly, the least hectic day is on New Year's day itself. But who'd like to spend New Year's Day on a plane or on the road, right?

So now that you know the busiest and least busy days to travel, here are a few tips to make your holiday travels easy peasy.

1. Plan ahead. Avoid traveling on the worst days and travel earlier, if you can. The farther away from the holidays your traveling date is, the cheaper the tickets along with the less hassle all around.

2. Travel OFF hours. I know not all people are able to plan ahead and travel a few weeks before the holiday rush. So in the event that you need to travel through the hectic days, traveling off hours. Travel when most individuals are asleep or in home. That would mean very early in the morning or very late at night. The good thing, most airlines would have employees at a minimum. The fantastic news is that flights could rarely get postponed and there is less chance of airport congestion.

3. If you're flying to the holidays, select a non-stop flight. So many things can go wrong during a connecting flight. The long lines might force you to miss a connecting flight. Delayed departures would cause you to feel doubly unhappy to be away from family as you're stuck in an airport throughout the holidays surrounded by only strangers and a dying phone battery. Which brings me to the next tip...

4. Prepare for a crisis. So be ready for the worst but hope for the best. Bring an excess phone battery. Have snacks ready. A couple of granola bars, trail mix, or even a bar would keep you from receiving HANGRY (famished and angry -- a dangerous combo). This is also a fantastic idea if you're traveling with kids. And if you are, best of luck and my thoughts and prayers are with you. Intelligence-inc.com Be strong!

5. Maintain your composure. Try to see that while not everyone is going home for the holidays; most individuals are only hoping to get to see their nearest and dearest. If you recall this, you'd most likely be more patient. So inhale, exhale and carry on.

I have a bonus tip for you. Bring earplugs, an eye mask, and generate a playlist of happy holidays songs. This trifecta will nearly always get you through rough vacation travels.
