Sorcery:  Empowered abilities and manipulation of resources

There is also what you call Keystone Runes and Lesser Runes which are also known as the subcategories of Runes.  Now, in order to create Rune Pages, players must choose primary path where they can take one keystone rune and 3 lesser runes with one secondary path.

One can build a number of Rune pages that amplify the strengths of your champion and that depends on the role you are playing and the specific champion you choose as well as personal preference. 

At first, players are given premade Rune pages to choose from when they enter the game.  And as player increases into Summoner Level also known as S rank by playing matches, the rune system becomes more open which allows owner to create and edit individual pages that suit his/her preferred play style.
