Card valuation

The baccarat card game presupposes every card has its value taking the form of number points. Thus, the 10, jack, queen and king cards are worth 0 points. The ace value is 1 point. Cards from 2 to 9 are evaluated by their face. Jokers are not used at all.

Game rules

In baccarat, there are 2 hands – Player and Bank respectively. Each hand receives 2 cards in the beginning. The point of the game and the way to winning is to get total score maximally close to 9. For that purpose, every card has its value (we have mentioned it earlier). In case a hand gets more than 9 in total, the original point count is corrected by taking away 10 points.

Depending on what a Player or Bank has on their hands, there is a possibility of drawing the 3rd card. It means the maximum amount of cards in one hand is three. However, the rules of drawing differ a little bit for the Player and Bank. If the total value of Player’s first 2 cards is from 1 to 5 or 10, the Player can draw one more card. The Bank’s actions are usually announced and guided by the dealer, and drawing the third card for the Bank hand depends a lot on what the Player has in total after getting all the three cards.

How to wager in baccarat game

Betters have to place their wagers in the very beginning. After that, hands can receive their cards. The point is to guess which hand would win with the score maximally close to 9. If you bet on the Player’s hand and it wins, you will double your bankroll. If you bet on the Bank’s hand and it wins, you will receive just 95% of your wager. In case of a tie and you are betting on it, you will get 8-to-1 payoff.
