Assam Government decides to honour Ratan Naval Tata with the highest civilian award ‘Asom Baibhav Award.’ Tata wrote a letter to Assam CM expressing his inability to receive the award on Monday 24 January. The Award ceremony is scheduled to be held on Monday 24 January 2022 in the state capital city Guwahati. Meanwhile, Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma informed that Ratan Tata will not be able to visit Assam on Monday to receive the Award personally due to his health conditions.

However, the award will be presented to him at a meeting in Mumbai on a later date that will be soon fixed. In view of this, the former Chairperson of Tata Sons wrote a letter to Assam CM Sarma expressing his inability to visit Assam and appreciating the decision of awarding him the Asom Baibhav 2021. In the letter, Tata wrote that he is deeply touched by the Assam government's decision to bestow him the Asom Baibhav award for the year 2021 and greatly appreciate it.

Ratan Naval Tata is a well-known Indian Industrialist and also a philanthropist serving as the head of the Tata Group's charitable trusts.
